MARCA by BOLOGNAFIERE IN 2015 IS THE SECOND LARGEST INTERNATIONAL EVENT FOR THE SECTOR OF PRIVATE LABEL RETAIL DISTRIBUTION

This year's event further strengthens the relationship with the Association of Modern Distribution (ADM) while the figures demonstrate the growth of MARCA: 6886 professional operators (+4.3%), 481 exhibitors (+6%), 9,5% more exhibition space and 564 b2b meetings with international buyers.

Marca by BolognaFiere has made great strides forward and is now the second largest event in Europe - and among the leading events worldwide - in the sector of private label retail products, while it represents a reference event for all of the professionals and leaders in the market.

The 11th edition of the event in January recorded 6,886 (*) professional visitors (+4.3%) while the number of initiatives aimed at promoting meetings between exhibitors and highly qualified foreign buyers increased significantly along with the 564 b2b meetings. Among the main foreign retailers to take part were: Doyle Importation Inc. (Canada), Seventh Continent Jsc (Russia, the fifth most important chain - source: INFOLine), X 5 Retail Group, Azbuka Vkusa, Bahetle, Norman-viviat, H-E-B (USA, retailer since 1905), Raley's and Daymon, Müller Moers GmbH&Co.KG and Aktiv Markt (Germany). The increase in participation led the organizers to employ new spaces, increasing the exhibition area by more than 9.5% compared with the 2014 event.

The figures confirm the growth in the importance of Marca by BolognaFiere, an event where, in addition to the in-depth study of the most important themes for modern organized distribution were also reports, business workshops and high profile debates for all participants and stakeholders between representatives of the production side and the distribution system, which was represented by ADM with whom BolognaFiere has signed a long-term agreement to make Bologna the location par excellence for private label products on an international level. Marca by BolognaFiere now represents a high profile event for retail distribution companies, which can take advantage of the initiatives and opportunities to hold constructive discussions with an increasingly large number of suppliers, and thus provide extra momentum to the development of their own private label product programmes.

Among the new features of the 11th edition of Marca was the admission of three new groups - Gruppo VéGé, Italy Discount and Unes – to the Technical Scientific Committee made up of leaders in modern retail distribution - Auchan, Conad, Coralis, Coop Italia, Crai, Despar, Dico/Tuodì, Risparmio Casa, Marr, S&C Consorzio Distribuzione, Selex, Sigma, Sisa, Simply.

The next event of Marca by BolognFiere is due to take place on from the 13-14 January 2016.
